This outing in Singapore marks the first time I am shooting a Caucasian… and gosh, was it a blast! Yulia, hailing from Ukraine, is a model – having travelled much of the world, the moment she struts her stuff in front of the camera, it’s all action for us as she unleashes poses after poses with careless ease. We just needed minimal supervision in terms of directing. It’s just jostling with my mateys for angles in small confine spaces that is the Fort Canning Centre. My virgin visit to Fort Canning is sure memorable! haha.

This is sure a “fast-food shooting”, a quick shoot after only having secure a shooting spot one hour before the actual shooting began. Elene, having prior experience in front of cameras, got into stride really eazily with the “free-style” shooting that we often shoot. No pose. Just do whatever, whenever. Hmm, before it sounds like a Shakira-song, have a look at the 1-hour-ish whirlwind shoot around the backlanes of the famed Gurney Drive. Elene is so so so easy to shoot, more importantly, enjoys the camera.

A mouthful of a title but it sends a message of enjoying life to the fullest. It is part lyrics of a song by Angela Aki.

Nways, in a perfect shoot, we’ll have Hawaii-5-0 waves, a windswept beach, deliciously blue skies peppered with puffy cumulus clouds and bikini babes. In that August 29 2008, we had actually that. And as bonus to that, a perfect sundown closed the day’s chapter. Coupled with friendly photographers there, it was a blast from sunrise till sundown.
