My very very first Indian Wedding! My first thought : so so so so so colorful!! Thanks to Vic n Komathi for giving me this opportunity to shoot something that I’ve never experienced before as a photographer.

Together with KL-based photographer Bonus, we started the morning at Komathi’s house, where the intricate dressing of the bride is performed. Komathi was reli reli dressed so beautifully for her wedding!

At Prai, we actually went to the wrong temple! my goodness, luckily the right temple was just a strong-arm-stone-throw away. Not having knowledge of the rituals involved, thank goodness we have the videographer to show us the way. Thanks buddy videoman. What followed was simply beautiful. The colors and happiness can be clearly showed in the following pictures… Enjoy them, as I’ve certainly enjoyed capturing them.

Grace :: Retroism

March 24, 2009

It’s been a while Grace graced my web-home since the last shooting early 2007 titled “Se7en“, a pictorial depiction of the 7 sins, inspired by the movie of the same name – but a whole lot less bloody. :) Having graduated, she’s still the bubbly bubbly laughy girl we all knew den.

This series, shot at Toshio’s abode, wants to pay homage to the good old days of film… or at least an attempt la. kaka. Off-shoe flash was employed a lot this round as I continue attempts to make my flash inconspicuous to the viewer. Enjoy this little off-beat series…

Suss :: Honeymoon MV

March 16, 2009

Starring a very very talented Suss whom without, won’t work d. She was amazing in her portrayal of this painful character. She doesn’t smoke but her character does, so kinda hard to do the smoking part but i think can pass lah. Buddies with me shooting this team project is TY (www.penangart.com) and Jack (www.lovu4ever.com/).

“Honeymoon” is a loose term to describe a stage of drug-abuse right before getting into the real deal – full time drug addiction. It tells of each person having to make a CHOICE, crossroads which we make everyday – like sliding doors – each paving a way to different destinations – good or bad, it’s up to the choices we make. Sometimes, all we need to do is just look out the window and see the light – broaden our vision – answers are there, just within our reach. (hokkien we say “seem khua khui” or “heart see open”. hahaha)

The music score used here is “Hitori (endroll version)”. The end-credits of “Hitori (single version)” is performed by Mika Nakashima.

All shot with Nikon D80+50mm and Sony R1. Post production in Photoshop 7.0 and After Effects 6.0. Njoy.
