Being a late adopter, I finally got an iphone. Steve Jobs wait no more… and it’s not the V4 too. I got it on the day me and ma wife left for Singapore. Bungling with the controls… I even switched on Data Roaming!!
The first night, we went out wif my buddy, hko and louise, to makan a “KFC-esque” chicken buy waaay much better at a mall close to Geylang. whahaha, den we left for some tea and yummy cheese cake at ….. i forgot d.

The next day, we (me and hko) attended the MangoRed PreNup Workshop at Hort Park. Close to its name, it was reali HORT that morning… the models were very professional, but I wished they were real couples. Models tend to be easier to shoot… I was hoping to shoot real couples with real emotions but nevertheless, it was a very good introduction to mango’s way of shooting. Here is a quick view of what I could cook up in less than 5 minutes with these pictures pratically out of cam.

During the post processing, hko downloaded a lot of stuff for iphone… thanks!! eh? tot we were suppose to be learning…….

The next day, we met up wif hko again to have lunch at Takashimaya foodcourt before heading off to visit my uncle at Simei. That’s where we met up with Toby the dog again…… and that sums up Sunday under a cloud cover of the inter-mitten rain.

Orchard on a Sunday, lots of girls too (left) and Toby

Monday is Universal day. Being typical Penang fellas, we opted for a FREE shuttle bus ride to Universal Studios. Boarding the shuttle bus at Ang Mo Kio bus stand, the 40-min ride took us direct to the theme park! MY wife was super excited liao… like being transformed into 4 year olds.

There is Far-Far Away Castle where i took from is …erm… far far away oso (left) and shooting the penguins

It was a weekday and it was quite packed too. The Battlestar Galactica ride that featured two rides going up in the air concurrently was under repair so there were no screams in the park emitting from this monster of a roller-coaster. We ate at the NewYork themed restaurant. Surprisingly, the food was quite ok with ok prices too. Each entry is given a SGD5 food and SGD5 merchandise voucher.

Monster coaster (left) and erm…..posing… not much

I could see a “Public Enemies” era of New York theme (left) and Woody Woodpecker… with security!

The longest line we encountered, with Battlestar Ride under repair, was Jurassic Park water ride. We lined up for 1 hour 15 mins for 5 minutes of soaking fun. I’m not going to reveal anything but it was great, with animal-tronic dinos coming to life. medium-fare adrenaline.

3-some with a KING! … almost too hawt for public viewing (left) and typical American mid-west diner… sweet

It was a great outing at Universal though, I suggest, waiting for the rest of the rides to be completed before going. Merchandise was affordable, not killing. Don’t miss WATERWORLD live show, only 3 shows a day. be there.

Tuesday, we were superduper tired liao… the adventure at Universal was taking its toll. Nevertheless, being avid walkers, we walked a good 20 mins from our Value Hotel Nice at Balistier Road to the MRT station Novena to enjoy a slower pace at the road we were staying. Then it was more shopping at the adjacent shopping centre, Novena Square. I just sat outside enjoying free Wifi and Starbucks…and watching lunch hour “fashion show”. Then, we MRTed to City Hall to go see some camera stuff… but I got no “form” to buy anything la…… so went for a walk from City Hall to Bencoolen Street for some wan-tan-mee. SGD3 … not bad la… but cannot beat Penang. hahahaha. SG taste more “healthy”.

Sit outside, shoot lo (left) and Bencoolen sidewalk stalls, makan ice-cream potong, nice!

Singapore, very shady… lots of shade (left) and on the way to Hotel Intercontinental (nice place lo, xpensive!!)

My cousin came to pick us up at Hotel Intercontinental for a crab dinner at Jumbo Seafood at Dempsey area. It was an ex-military barracks turned into a dining area with expensive-sounding food shops. The crabs served at Jumbo was JUMBO!! It was a sumptous meal, filled to the brim.

Before leaving for Jumbo, shoot National Library (left) and humungous crab pincers

Wednesday, balik day… no shiok d.. no mood take pic liao. sienz. blur oso don’t care… plane lo

ohya. Last but not least…… the “loot”. My share is at the tiny tiny bottom left (one hand can count d), the rest belongs to my wife. Got sumore of hers, not shown in pic… these are the ones claim GST!!

Enjoyable trip!!!!! i love SG.

Caroline

July 27, 2010

This was a shooting up against a backdrop of impending rain… it was windy ( love it!! ) and the skies weren’t exactly on giving up the day with a whimper. An hour plus into the shooting, the winds finally reach top speed – sending the rain in 45degree angles and blowing umbrellas inside out, easily. Unlike the wind which built up gradually into a high, Caroline came into the shooting already in high spirits – jumping and just plainly enjoying it… but I didn’t use any of the pics. whahaha. Instead I used the emo pics – which really, IMHO, seems a perfect match to the dull grey skies. The 5D got a lof of battering from the rain lo… see how much it can tahan. whahaha……. So, here are the pics for the evening…

Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

June 29, 2010

My second visit to the Land Below the Wind, Sabah – beautiful BLUE SEA, nice breeze and I wouldn’t mind coming back here again …
Some of the pics are from my “Me and the World” project where I would try to take, if possible, a solitude figures against their environment.
One of the days, when I reli got warmed up to shoot more d… suddenly the camera ran out of juice! missed the beautiful sunset……:(
