Recently, I got an opportunity to make the trip to Melaka for a wedding. How fruitful was it that made me discover the quaint and heritagely rich town of Melaka. It’s just simple charm that makes it so special. Moreover, it’s much much cleaner than Penang. Staying at Baba House (a heritage building turned homestay), it is a stone’s throw from Jonker Walk, the famous shopping street that sells curious goods and peppered with wonderful restaurents and stalls (have to try the “ondek-ondek” and anything related to “gula melaka”). If u do drop by Melaka, u must stay at these homestays. Lucky too when for my visit, it was near Chinese New Year, so Jonker Walk was lighted with LOTS of little red lamps. so nice.
