The morning started with some of us Rojakstudio gang giving a visit to Mariko-san’s house to see the ending part in the art of wearing a kimono. Looking at her pulling and pushing the kimono material takes a bit and effort whilst Elene was standing there in like 3-4 layers of cloth! Not very Malaysian-climate friendly. As she put on the finishing details, she explained some of the reasons for the a particular clothe being there – from the vertically aligned top-half to how many inches the collar should be. It is really a finely detailed art. And you can see Mariko glowing – very proud of her art. This really proves it is the details that make the whole picture beautiful. <\/p>\n

Then we proceeded to Youth Park nearby for the shoot and meeting up with a couple more shooting buddies. Elene, as alwez, expertly move easily about in the kimono like she’s been doing it for years. Mind you, it is quite restrictive in the movements when one is wearing it. It was hot and gosh, did she made it look like spring. The shoot was fun as her red blending nicely with the relatively green surroundings. Great day, great shooting buddies, beautiful Elene and not least, Mariko-san. Ean-joy…… <\/p>\n
