Ronnie & Ivy

July 24, 2009

When I met this couple, I really enjoyed their company and had quite a long enjoyable chat, and the best part is they could finish each other’s sentences. haha. I knew I was in something really nice and it did, fast forward 6 months later, on their big day. They had their dinner first and yes, it was GREAT! the friends, the mood, the dancing and the yam-sengs! The next morning, Ivy had a little hangover, but it was all cured when dashing white-coat-Ronnie came for her, having endured games that he took on with sporting-ease with a helping hand from his dependable and funny heng-tais (buddies), most from Penang Free School. great guys! I really enjoyed this wedding. :) … and laughed a lot too. haha.

After the wedding, me and buddy, hayashi (www.hayashiartz.com) talked to Ronnie’s dad and sister – and yes, we were chatting non-stop until I left the house and forgot my 2nd bag (2 SB600s, 1 tripod)! Thanks to Ronnie’s household for keeping my bag safe until I went to claimed it. THANKS!! and also to Ronnie and Ivy for the gifts from The Land of Windmills, it was nice and we really appreciated it very much! TQTQ.

added :: yea, probably most ppl didn’t notice in the dinner, there were moments of “sweat”. When it was time to do the champagne pouring, I moved the flash mounted on top of a stand. The china-made receiver suddenly went loose, and dropped my SB600 flash from about 6ft. I manage to catch it with one hand and fixed it back to place… the couple were already up on stage. Then Hayashi went to move the stand a bit backwards because it was too near. It dropped AGAIN!! Thankfully, he too, managed to catch the flash single-handedly! haha. Already, the champagne was going to be popped! He managed to fixed it into place JUST IN TIME to catch the popping! whoa….reli sweat lo. Luckily, our ninja-training has blessed us with quick reflexes.

Ok. here are the pics, with the couple giving me “free-hand” in shooting and editing, hehehe – SHIOK.
and … just kidding on the ninja part. kakaak.

The third and final leg of Tze Ming & Riwa’s wedding ends with a grand dinner and Penang’s EnO Hotel Grand Ballroom. After the cocktail reception and entrance by the bride and groom, the food presentation was the best i’ve seen and the attendees were treated to a very unique start. Apart from a piano solo, the guests were treated by songs and music “in-house” by Tze Ming & Riwa’s own family and friends. Riwa’s emotional speech was one of the moments of the dinner. The evening ended on the dance floor as the guests put on their dancing shoes and it all finished on a high note.

At the end of these two days, I’ve personally not only gained worthy knowledge in shooting with multiple lights on different channels, but most importantly, gained 2 extra friends in the process. Again, I wished the BEST for the couple and Tze Ming’s baby-D700. haha.

Not forgetting my two buddies who helped me too, hayashi and fuminari.

Here are the key moments that was captured :
