TeetooWhen my friend Hayashi mentioned he managed to borrow a D90 to test out for a wedding, I promptly jumped on the opportunity to try out this Nikon offering solely on it’s video capabilities. So there I was, learning to use the camera and getting a feel to a new machine during the makeup session itself! Keeping a steady hand with that rather light equipment is mighty hard, with lots of jumps n such – well, since I manage to capture lots (and LOTS) of shaky footage – heck, might as well do an music video “shaky cam” style. Truth to be said, I really wasn’t sure how to present the video, altho I had some previz of some shots in my head going into the wedding.
Daniel and Charis was kind enough to let me shoot on the sidelines with no experience whatsoever in wedding videography. Thanks! U guys were great! I really enjoyed your night of songs, blessings and laughter. U both were a real sport too, willing to trust us on some of our funny ideas and “mannequin” posing. Even the song in this Mtv wasn’t sufficiently long to cater for all the footage that I took! The wedding wat that happening… I hope the compilation of the dinner session here is presentable. :)

The correct term is VIDEO. If the video is a MUSIC VIDEO then it’s a MUSIC VIDEO.
MTV is a Channel. :) This term is commonly wrongly used by Asian as far as I have observed, especially on HK / TW entertainment show.
example – “这个是阿产哥最新的 MTV.” :P
Anyway, the music video was nicely done. Only saw first 30 seconds, cos gotta go out now.
I notice how the AFing was accurate and well.
And were you using VR lens when recording?
T2, nice job! Though it was your first attempt, it is great production! How do you feel like using a D90 compared to normal camcoder?

HoSeng:: I’ve only used regular camcorders only so I can’t compare to pro ones. I guess I like the DOF play using camera lens. more freedom of expression.
ikan:: No problems with liveview going off becoz I never shot more than 3 minutes in a shooting run. I had problems with focusing tho. I use Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
What is lacking is a stereo mic input, anti-shake and tilt-LCD in the D90.
Yes it is a great piece of video production. Fantastic framing and editing.
So now, which one would you rather be: a photographer or a videographer?
Chester:: hihi. i alwez liked video production (from my animation background) but the hardware is just waaaay too expensive! If I kena lottery, I woulnd’t mind giving video a get-go. It’s more tedious but the results can b very very satisfying.
