This is my first portrait shooting in Penang for like, 3 months. When that morning that I met SuMay, I gotta admit I was still a little blur… bo kau warm up ko…… and putting the 35mm f2 into its paces in that sunny morning was kinda fun and yet a learning experience, trying to compose with a much wider focal range than my usual 50mm. Though I wished I had a f1.4, as I am a lowest-as-possible-f shooter.

SuMay is a very bubbly girl, jumping up n down, swing here n there, spinning and jumping up and down again.. and she had like only 40winks the night before, literally. gosh.

The weather was Hot hot hot… typical, being close to Chinese New Year. And in celebration of the year of the Tiger, I opt for colors that are a tad more daring and going for CSI:Miami-ish palette. HUAT AR…..
