TeetooYeah. Suddenly got the feeling for some 80s songs in which I was growing up and coming of age… or I thought I was. Then I went YouTubing for some videos that I’ve missed, the first female solo I searched was Kim Wilde – Brit, pro garderner, lovely voice and turning a graceful 48 this year! OMG. actually the day I searched for her vids, THAT incidentally was her birthday. Must be my 80s side of the brain clicking…
One of my favorite was “You Came” in which was a montage of quick takes of one of her concert. She was HOT in that outfit… no wonder falling in love at that age was so easy. hahaha. I was 16 when I saw that video on what our Malaysian TV could show, namely in 3 options – RTM1, 2 or TV3. no Astro. no internet (in M’sia). All we could do is keep tab of the favorite page in the newspaper – the TV Guide. Some programmes like Max Headroom, Night Flight Take Off, to name a few, were the only ones that show music videos, so alwez had to have the VHS tape ready, in case want to REC the show for private viewing. HAHA. yes, I was fully controlled by TV Guide scheduling – nothing like on-demand. Shows were weekly affairs. And Malaysian viewers were more “open minded” – we had a lot less “cutting” involve. Kissing scenese were shown. Now it’s banned… well.
